Whole30 Tuna Patties

These easy Whole30 tuna patties are the dressed up version of the laid back tuna salad. My mom used to make a version of these for family dinner when I was growing up and I always looked forward to dinner knowing this was on the menu. Simple but delicious and super satisfying over rice (or cauliflower rice if on Whole30!) with your favorite veggie on the side. I’ve just updated it here with some Whole30 staples. If you have things like some good quality tuna (or salmon really!) and Whole30 compliant mayo at the ready, then this recipe is great to pull out of your back pocket. The rest of the ingredients can really be swapped out for what you have on hand. So feel free to use this recipe as a base and mix and match flavor profiles based on your tastes. To really make it pop, be sure to add a dollop of lemon aioli (recipe below).

 

Tuna Patty Ingredients:

 

2 – 5oz cans tuna in water

1 TBSP Primal Kitchen mayo

1 egg

2 scallions, white & light green parts only, finely diced

1/4 cup almond flour

1/8 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

2 TBSP EVOO

 

*Lemon aioli ingredients:

 

1/2 cup Primal kitchen mayo

juice of half a lemon

1/8 tsp garlic powder 

sprinkle of paprika

salt to taste

*combine well, add salt to taste

 

Directions:

 

  1. In mixing bowl, combine all ingredients (except EVOO) and mix well
  2. Form mixture into evenly sized patties (makes about 5 palm-sized patties)
  3. Heat EVOO in skillet over medium high heat
  4. Carefully add patties to pan and cook about 3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook second side an additional 3 minutes
  5. Serve with favorite green veggie of choice over rice or cauliflower rice (if on Whole30)
