Our Favorite Things Series – August 2019
As moms, we are forever trying out new products to find what fits best for our lifestyles. August is Back to School season, so here are a few of our newest Favorite Things to prep you for what’s to come!
I’ll admit that sometimes I’m not the best at labeling toys or belongings for my children – I prefer they share pretty much everything (or pretend to share in my presence, at least), but with school bags I wanted each to have their own. We went through a couple different backpacks before finding these adorable ones by Personal Creations! My three boys each have one of these bags. They hold up well, they wash well, and they’re super cute to boot. Plus the designs change pretty often so they’re on sale a lot! What’s better for back to school than a new backpack?
With the recent stress on everyone to eat healthier and chose meat that is grass-fed or pasture-raised, the price of a meal keeps going up! But even if cost isn’t the primary objection, it can be quite hard to find meat that fits the bill. Even Whole Foods struggles. Enter Butcher Box – a delivery food service that focuses on sustainably raised meats. You can choose size, type of meat, type of cut, and frequency of delivery, they ensure the meat they send you is sustainably and humanely raised. It’s a win-win. Added bonus, they’re offering 3 pounds of wings FREE for the duration of your subscritpion right now – but even if that expires, they regularly run promotions for free burgers or bacon. Order your first box now and you’ll have your first shipment in time for those Labor Day parties!
If you’re on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve definitely seen ads for Thirdlove, and if you’re at all like me, you’ve ignored them. However, I had the good fortune of having not one but TWO friends try these out, and both gave rave reviews. So, when the underwire finally gave on one of my favorite bras, I decided to try Thirdlove for the replacement. Ladies, these are LEGIT. I had a bra fitting years ago before my wedding, and their online fit test is dead on too. Their products are so comfortable and so flattering too – definitely worth a try!
Since I’m now hopelessly addicted to this service, I’m going to do another plug for this amazing company. Guys, Public Goods rocks. For $59 per year, you get access to tons of holistic products and foods that are safe for the whole family. And for products made sustainably, you truly can’t beat the price. I’m a convert to their shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, sunscreen, and dish soap (which smells amazing, by the way), and their coffee and tuna fish are totally worth the price. Try it out – they offer a 30-day free trial!
I’m loving Honey! It is a browser extension that automatically finds and applies coupon codes at checkout with a single click. You download it and it does all the work for you. Once you get to checkout, honey will try dozens of promotional codes to save you the most money!! And if it finds the exact product on another site for less money, it will tell you that as well!! It’s completely FREE to use, so what are you waiting for?
I love our Berkey. It’s like part of the family!! I can totally taste the difference between our tap water and water filtered through our Berkey and so can our guests. The Big Berkey system removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Need I say more?
Snoozer Pet Cave
My dog loves to sleep under things. Blankets, furniture, she likes to have her own little area that the kids can’t touch! So, when Santa brought her a pet cave, she instantly fell in love!! She especially loves it on cold Fall nights and all winter long!!
