My name is Tahnee Cole. I’m an Analyst, in the Finance/ Credit Department for Nestle. I manage a portfolio of 170 Customers, managing Nestle Waters, Nestle Professional and Nestle Foods. I am also a writer and mom of 2. My days are not any slower since working from home. I would first like to say that I DO NOT miss the commute and I enjoy being able to see my kids daily. Yet, this has been a challenge.

.

A typical work day at Nestle is 7:30 to 4, but at home it has turned into longer hours due to stopping and restarting.

.

A typical day starts at 6 am which is an hour later than when I commute. I get up and exercise. Well I try.  My favorite exercise guru is Brittney Babe.

.

6:30– I take our puppy Apollo out either to roam free in our backyard or we go for a quick walk. This is also his time to eat his breakfast and go potty.

.

.

.

7:00– I hop in the shower and try to put on something nice and casual (video chat meetings).

.

7:30– I start my work day

.

Around 8 I take a quick break and start breakfast, and prep snacks. This is cutting up fruits and veggies, placing them in the front so they will be the first thing the kids see when they open the refrigerator.

.

.

At 9– My youngest usually gets up. I direct him to breakfast, set up his tablet to ABC mouse or PBS kids.

.

.

At 9:30– I try to make sure both kids brush their teeth, get washed up and get dressed

.

At 10 to 12 I encourage my children to work independently and not disturb me. Heaven usually has zoom meetings.

.

12:00pm– We take lunch and recess, I also take Apollo outside again.

.

1:00– I encourage silent reading because I have a daily meeting from 1:00 to 2:30

.

From 2:30 to 3:00 I offer up snacks and try to get the kids moving around a little, tidying up their work spaces and helping with chores.

.

3:00 to 4 –They spend time together and I encourage them to not disturb me. Heaven also has a Zoom meeting with her classmates on most days around this time. Then I encourage my son to watch an educational show on TV.

.

.

.

4:00– I get up from my desk and then work on preparing dinner.

.

From 4 on, the day varies, but at some point around the evening I am back at my desk double checking to  make sure that all my work duties for the day are complete.

.

With day to day changes this schedule is not set in stone; however, this is just a typical work from home day in the life of career mom, Tahnee Cole.

So Your Kid Wants to be a Vegetarian … now what?

I come from a family of meat-eaters.  Serious meat eaters.  In fact, I once made vegan brownies for a friend of ours and my father absolutely loved them.  Until, that is, I told him they were vegan.  Game over - he wouldn't touch them after that.  When...
