What we did this Week: September 22-28th
That was a very fast September. Somehow, with all the craziness, I feel like it should be December next week, not October!! But I’m really glad that it’s fall!! I really love this time of year, although I could do without all the homework. I don’t recall having this much homework in grade school. It seems like there is a test every day to study for, not to mention all the paperwork homework he has to do every night. It’s brutal for me, I can’t image how my kid feels!! Most of the time, I just want to tell him to go outside and play or let’s go have fun, because being a kid shouldn’t be so serious. You are hardly ever going to use longitude and latitude (honestly can’t remember when I ever used it in my adult life, but I’m sure there are people who do). You aren’t going to have to show your work when you need to count correct change or balance your checkbook every month, let a lone use a bar graph. But before I keep going on about it, this isn’t a post about the amount of homework our kids have and if it’s actually doing any good (ok, I’m done, I promise). So let’s get back to the matter at hand!!
Our week consisted of a lot of homework, football, ballet, piano, work, clients and working out at Burn Boot Camp in Beachwood!! We also had a ton of fun today (Saturday), more on that below!!!
Saturday was jammed packed!! We woke up to a double rainbow in our backyard, which was the best view to wake up too!!
Then we headed to the Children’s Museum of Cleveland for a special art event by Faber Castell USA. They make these amazing color pencils that are completely blendable to match every skin shade!! They were really nice to use and you can find them in the Museum gift shop, Amazon or Michael’s! I highly recommend them.
The celebrate, they had this amazing cake!! We didn’t eat it, but I had to take a pic! Wish I would have found out who made it to give them credit, but whoever you are, it was fabulous!! Someone actually hand painted the artwork!!
Of course we couldn’t leave the Museum without having some fun!!!
Next, we went to check out the Open House at Rocket Mortgage Field House! WOW!! They really went all out and I love that they are featuring local businesses with artwork, photographs, and food options! My son’s goal is to own club seats in the Huntington Legends Club when he’s older 🙂 They didn’t seem to miss a detail!! We’re excited to go back to see Jurassic World Live Tour this week!!
The kids wanted ice cream and since we were already downtown, we had to go to Mason’s Creamery!! It’s always been on my list to go to, but sadly, we don’t venture downtown very often, so this was a must do!! It seriously did not disappoint!! My husband got the most delicious, Cookie Butter in an egg waffle topped with peanut butter whipped cream. I mean, you just can’t get better than that!! I’m not a big fan of ice cream in general, but I could eat that all the time!! Seriously, get your butt to Ohio City and get some yummy ice cream!!
We rounded out the day seeing the Goodyear Blimp on our way home 🙂
Tell us what you did this week or have planned for this coming week!! We’d love to include some readers adventures!!
