What we did this week: August 24-31, 2019
The first two weeks of school are under our belts and it has been CRAZY!! Two weeks ago, my daughter started first, at a brand new school and because she is in Kindergarten, she only went for a few hours a day. That was OK with me because I think I needed those short days more than she did. I REALLY missed her! But she transitioned as if she ran the school and for that I’m very grateful!! Anyway, during those few hours, I had so much to do. I dreamed of organizing the house, but it just wasn’t meant to be. I had tons of meetings: PTO, client, work and trying to spend time with my son who didn’t start school yet.
Our family had a lot going on this week and we loved every second of it!! Another crazy one and I still am not organized at home, but hopefully no one will remember the pile of papers all over the dining room table when they are grown up, but hopefully they remember the fun things we did!! Here are a few highlights!!
We started the week last Saturday at Color Me Mine at Pinecrest. They were having a blow out Block party and we were lucky to be able to be there, meet some new followers and connect with some that have been following us for a while!! It’s always nice to hear that they find something we write or post about helpful!!! And we always love hearing from you, so don’t even hesitate to reach out!!
On Sunday, we headed out to Shaker Heights for The Cleveland Garlic Festival. We had never been to it before, but were blessed with tickets from North Union Farmer’s Market and the kids and I had a blast!! We ate some good food and the kids loved Flower Clown, the face painter and all there was to do! I also got a terrible sunburn 🙁 It was a bit on the chilly side when we first went and so I wore what I thought was something that would cover me but for whatever reason, my Italian pale skin didn’t care!
Next up my son started 5th grade. Did you know that 10 year olds are just really cool and they don’t need to pose for a first day of school picture? It’s for babies apparently. Here’s his pic to prove it:
And I had to cover a few hundred books with contact paper, but here is my hack and I was able to get it done fairly quickly, while drinking a bevy (excuse the glass, but I didn’t have time to break out the old fashioned whiskey glass and I’m horrified by the drink as well…it’s all I had in the house).
I meet a client and had an amazing work out at Results Fitness in Mayfield!! I understand why they are always rated as the Best of in Cleveland year after year!! They get it done and I really liked the workout and how I felt afterward (even though I couldn’t walk for a few hours).
I think the highlight of the week for all of us was the Browns Game. My son’s football team was lucky to play during halftime at the game!! He got to throw the football with Miles Garrett and see the players up close! We even saw some of the Air Show rehearsal and that was awesome!!
This week, I need to go get my laundry done and hopefully I’m able to get a few rooms organized and take some time to work out!!
Tell us what you did this week or have planned for this coming week!! We’d love to include some readers adventures!!
