What we did last week: September 15-22, 2019
What a crazy week we had last week!! Besides trying to bounce back from colds, pneumonia, and just sheer exhaustion, we seem to be going non-stop lately!! My husband and I divide and conquer as best we can. There is a lot of room for improvement. My #1 being how to have a healthy dinner with everyone sitting at the table during the week. My kids hate anything that comes from the crock/instant-pot and that makes it seriously challenging, so if anyone has recipes or ideas to share, I’d love them!!!
Getting back to the week. Last Sunday, I spent most of my day at The Van Aken District working, because, well, as you all know, we had an insane storm that blew out all the electric, not to mention others had major damage! So it was nice to have a warm meal to eat while I was working at Chutney B. It was so comforting and soothing after eating peanut butter and jelly the day before!!
During the work/school week, we were busy with homework, football, piano lessons, dance, PTO meetings and client meetings. It was all fun, crazy and exhausting!!! Luckily, I was able to squeeze in a little fun. A friend and I went to Michael’s Genuine Restaurant at The Van Aken District (yes, I LOVE it there, it’s my second home) to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day. Every Wednesday, they have a rotating burger and 1/2 off wine bottles to boot (from 4:30PM to close)!! I got the new burger, The Juicy Schwartzy and let me tell you, it was to die for!! I’m still dreaming of it!! House made pastrami, thousand island dressing, pickled-red cabbage, black Angus patty with gooey Gruyere cheese and a buttery brioche bun! YUM! It was an amazing burger (see for yourself) and I can’t wait to see what they come up with for this week’s burger!!
Over the weekend, I joined Results Fitness for their Social Saturday workout and celebration!! This is the 3rd year in a row they have been voted BEST OF CLEVELAND!!! Congratulations everyone at RF for this amazing accomplishment!!! And it is very deserved!! And just as a side note: I’m not a member of Results Fitness, they were offering a free workout for this event to anyone who wanted to try it out or long standing members. As I was walking in, the class before me was walking out. Everyone I passed engaged in conversation with me in some form, from a simple hello to a full on conversation and it made me feel at ease because I’m not in great shape and all of this is so new to me. And then once I walked in the door, I was again greeted by just about everyone in the class, the trainers and felt at home!! It’s an amazing workout that’s proven to get the results you want and they make it work for everyone!!! Plus, sometimes they have cookies and champagne 🙂 And speaking of cookies, these cookies were made by one of our readers!!! Not only did they look good, but they tasted amazing!
If you would like to check out Results Fitness, I am hosting a 55-minute workout on Friday, October 4th at 5:30pm followed by drinks and fun at Lindey’s Lake House on Cedar Road. It’s going to be a great time and you will meet other local moms!! It’s a win-win!! Click HERE for the link to register!!
My daughter had a really fun birthday party at Sky Zone!! She’s going to a different school than my son, so we are all new there and it was great to meet other parents and put some faces with names of the kids she always talks about. But let’s talk about Sky Zone for a sec. I would have let her stay all day if they had a spa where I could get my nails done and relax with some really good coffee (or wine, I’m not picky). Who’s with me on this? And if Sky Zone isn’t interested in making this possible for all the moms who spend countless hours in there, who would like to be my Shark Tank partner and propose this?
We also went to see the Indians play the Phillies. I was hoping for a win, but unfortunately Philly was the best team of the night! My husband was happy because we are from central PA and that’s the “home” team, but the kids and I were Cleveland all the way!! After living here for almost 7 years, I finally got to a game and it was my kids first MLB game, so they were thrilled!! Those nacho’s from Momocho’s…..so good!! They were so large and filling, enough for all 4 of us (the kids eat the nachos that only had cheese on them). And who can resist a gigantic waffle cone from Pierre’s?
This week, I finally got through all of the laundry and folded everything!! It’s all resting neatly in everyone’s drawers, waiting to be unfolded and on the floor in no time!
Tell us what you did this week or have planned for this coming week!! We’d love to include some readers adventures!!
