We had a Blast at Adrenaline Monkey
(PLEASE NOTE: While going out and about these days is a personal choice and one that only you should make, I do want to let you know my experience with different businesses around the East Side! Because let me tell you something, COVID is costing them, BIG TIME! And they really aren’t getting much help from the Government. So, consider buying a gift card to use in the future if you aren’t comfortable going out! If you are, here is some information and my experience! )
My kids have been begging me to let them do more things around town these day. We’ve been super cautious and they are going a little mad. And I totally get it. It’s hard to have a summer of zoom playdates, inflatable pools and no friends to hand out with. When I heard all of the precautions that Adrenaline Monkey was doing to keep everyone safe, I felt pretty comfortable taking the kids for a few hours and I’m really glad I did!!
Adrenaline Monkey is an Indoor Adventure Center!! They have everything a kid could wish for to keep them happy: Ninja Courses, Rock Climbing Walls, Parkour, Aerials Ropes Course, Arcade and yummy snacks and drinks!! One thing I really loved to see at Adrenaline Monkey was they they support other local businesses by selling yummy treats in their cafe from places like Malley’s, Culture Pop CLE, and more!! But, it’s also a really cool center and really big at 24,000 square feet, so there is plenty of room to keep your distance from other people!!
Here are some the precautions Adrenaline Monkey is taking to make sure all of their staff and customers are safe, if you would like to see their entire plan, it’s all laid out on their website HERE:
- Face Masks: All team members and guests are required to wear face masks while in the facility unless participating in the adventures, when socially distanced outside, or while eating on the mezzanine.
- Capacity: We are operating at 50% capacity at all times.
- Temperature Checks: A member of our team will perform a quick temperature check of every guest when entering the facility (if you show a fever of 100 degrees or higher, you cannot enter).
- Social Distancing:
- Floor markings throughout the facility will provide guidance for proper 6-foot distancing. Maintain 6-foot social distancing at all times.
- Hands-free harnessing when possible.
- One guest per obstacle.
- No street shoes. Please bring a second pair of shoes to change into.
- Personal belongings must be stored in lockers.
- All guests must wash hands/use sanitizer upon entering the facility/lobby area.
- All team members must wash their hands frequently.
- Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the facility for the convenience of our guests.
- High-contact surfaces are disinfected every hour with hospital-grade disinfectants.
I thought that sounded really great!! So, I brought my kids in and they had the best time!!! We were all temperature checked with a touchless thermometer. Once we got the clear from our temperatures, we were told the rules (per above). I was happy that the center was spotless and there was so much space that I wasn’t worried about bumping into other people. We all had plenty of space to spread out and have fun and everyone was respectful of wearing masks and keeping their distance while waiting for a course to be free.
My kids didn’t waste any time getting to get to work!! They wanted to try everything and they kept working hard to accomplish the obstacle course!! I think my 11-year-olds favorite thing was the rock climbing wall because once he got to the top, he could fall back on the inflatable catcher (I have no idea what to call that). He must have climbed it 100 times!!
My daughter, who is almost 6, loved the ninja courses!! While it took her a while to figure some of them out, by the time we left she was a pro! I love her “never give up” spirit! She is a very determined little girl who looks people in the eye with a smile when they tell her she can’t do something because she will work until she can!!
By the time break time started, my kids were a sweaty mess!! They were working so hard and working muscles they probably haven’t worked in months!! We took a break to check out the arcade and take a breather!! I watched the staff go around the center and disinfect everything!
When break time was over, my kids wanted to keep climbing and running!! I was really happy that not only were they having a blast, but they were working together as a team and helping one another out!! They had smiles on their faces the entire time!! When our next hour was up, we beelined it to the arcade to play some games and earn some tickets to cash in!! They had a blast!
After our 2.5 hours were up (they give you extra time due to the fact that they need to disinfect for 15 minutes every hour), we all left extremely happy and ready to come back soon!! The kids were tired and sweaty and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!! Also, I would be remiss to not mention, that my kids who are usually out of bed at 5 AM everyday slept in until 10 AM the next day!! So, we will be making Adrenaline Monkey visits on the regular!!!
I am compensated by Adrenaline Monkey. All opinions, thoughts and ideas are 100% my own.
Weekends are better when you pick your own apples and pumpkins!! Check out Cleveland East Side Mom’s 12 favorite farms in the area that also provide some entertainment for the kids (i.e. hayrides, bonfires, and so much more)!
Finding a restaurant that appeals to everyone is hard these days, but w/ all the variety at the Market Hall @ The Van Aken District, everyone can be happy!
Get out of the house and check out Pinstripes at Pinecrest in Beachwood, OH and have a fun and safe time with the whole family!
