O Christmas tree O Christmas tree, where do I go to find thee? Growing up, my family didn’t cut down our own tree for the holiday. While we did go to a tree farm to purchase one, we bought one that was already cut, placed it on top of our car, and rode home to watch my dad put the tree in the stand and try to get it as straight as possible. When I was little, he could never do it fast enough and when I was a teenager, it was hysterical watching him trying to get it just right! I have fond memories of our Christmas trees. Although growing up we didn’t cut our own trees, my husband and I started the tradition when we were dating. There was a lovely tree farm in PA that took you to all the trees by a horse-drawn sleigh, offered hot chocolate and homemade cookies in the barn and it was just plain magical. We kept the tradition alive ever since and while we don’t travel to PA to get our tree, we always take our children to the farm to pick out a tree!! It’s something that we always look forward to and have so much fun doing every year!!
There is just nothing like a good holiday tradition. And while I will always have fond memories of that place PA, it is quite the drive just for a tree. So I went on a Christmas tree farm hunt and rounded up a handful of Christmas tree destinations on the East Side. I hope this will help you to find that perfect tree to light up your house for the holidays.
This farm has pre-cut (Fraser & Douglas Fir, Concolor, & Canaan Fir) and U-cut trees (Blue & Norway Spruce, Scotch & White Pine). Oh, they also have award-winning maple syrup for sale for those Christmas morning pancakes.
