CESM On The Move: What we did this week Oct. 6-12 2019
We’ve been having so much fun lately, it’s hard to highlight just a few things we’ve been doing!! And it finally feels like Fall outside after having some cray warm days in there this week. I’d much prefer to live somewhere with 70 degree days year round, I do love a crisp morning with a giant mug of hot tea!! It’s so comforting and soul soothing!! I also feel more awake and that could just be from my drafty, old house, but I love it!!
Last Sunday, my daughter and I checked out University Heights’s 1st Fall Fest!! They did a really nice job getting local vendors there!! Unfortunately, we went late and the kids stuff was breaking down, so I hope they extend that next year!! But it was nice to see friends and make some new ones!
As usual, during the work/school week, we were busy with homework, football, piano lessons, dance, PTO meetings and client meetings. I love my clients! They are so much fun, inspire me and keep me on my toes!! And did you know, the Market Hall at The Van Aken District is the perfect place for working and client meetings? I just love it so much!! And who wouldn’t! Coffee, pastries, and yummy food galore! It keeps you going!!
We had a PTO meeting and afterwards a bunch of us went out to BarNone on Green Road. Such a fun spot that makes killer (and strong) cocktails. It’s honestly the perfect place to go with your mom friends!! Not loud and have plenty of space to relax and share good conversation and drinks!
My son’s 5th grade class had a Kindness Project and they decided to make rocks with quotes of encouragement or wise words to spread all over their campus and across town. It was so much fun looking for them!! I have yet to find my son’s 🙂 The idea is that you can find the rock and re-hide it for someone else to see. It will be interesting to see if any find their way out of the area. But it was such a great project and I loved seeing what the kids came up with! If you find one, please take a pic and tag me!
My daughter’s class took a field trip to Acacia Reservation. I absolutely love her school. They spend a lot of time outside exploring and playing and I wish every school was like that!! It was fun to be with her class and meet some parents I haven’t met yet. She teachers are so compassionate, kind and patient!!
This was the first time I really walked around Acacia. It is beautiful and the Cleveland Metroparks are doing such an amazing job turning this former golf course into a beautiful area for both humans and wildlife. And the best part is, it’s right in our backyard!! There were also dogs galore and people fishing and walking! I think in another week or so, it will be even more beautiful as the leaves keep changing colors! Keep up the great work Metroparks!!
This is what life is like when you are the little sister. 45 degree football games 🙂 I grew up with older brothers who played and I have heard a few things from my time freezing on the bleachers!! Bring blankets, a thermos of hot chocolate and wear a lot of layers!!
We rounded out the week with a family date night at Crumb & Spigot in Bainbridge. It’s been on our “must go” list for a while now and it did NOT disappoint!! We were told by friends to get there early, and we’re so glad we listened to them. They opened at 4pm and we got there at 4:20pm and they only had 1 table available. Luckily we got it, but it never slowed down in the 2.5 hours we were there!! The food was amazingly yummy, the staff super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about not only the menu, but also every drink on the menu (and we asked a lot of questions)! Picky Kid wants to go back for his Birthday 🙂
For dessert, we headed to Chagrin Falls for ice cream at Jeni’s!!
This week will be full of work, catching up on some much needed housework, the last week of football and a very special birthday!!!
Tell us what you did this week or have planned for this coming week!! We’d love to include some readers adventures!!
